Hypnos
Offering candles to Hypnos, Greek god and personification of sleep.
He was born from the goddess Nyx, primordial titan and personification of the night. It is said that the ever-sleepy Hypnos resided in a cave in the Underworld where the light of day could never touch. Within this cave, a flowing stream, the River of Forgetfulness, would snake the grounds of Hypnos' sanctuary. He and his brother Thanatos, god of death, were described to be close and would normally travel together in the night.
In one story, Hera turned to Hypnos to put a sleeping spell on Zeus, ruler of the Gods. The first time Hypnos had agreed, Zeus had awoken shortly after and chased the poor deity around until he managed to seek refuge in his mother's cave, Nyx.
Hera consulted Hypnos a second time to put Zeus to sleep in order to help the Greeks in the Trojan War. At first, he was reluctant, but Hera soon made an offer to marry him to Pasithea, goddess of relaxation and meditation. Hypnos, still hesitant, agreed to Hera's offer but made her swear by the River Styx to hold up her bargain. In the end, Hypos' second attempt to lull Zeus to sleep was successful, and some say that is the reason why the Greeks won the war: Zeus had slept right through it.
Evoke Hypnos to help with insomnia, restlessness, and nightmares. He is also useful for dreamwork, relaxation, and to promote serenity and peace.

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓: These candles melt beautifully and are safe to burn indoors, however, PLEASE be wary of the flame. The more herbs, the bigger and taller the flame will be. Always supervise your candles while burning. These candles have very burnable botanicals. Some herbs may crackle when caught on fire, such as cedar and juniper.
Always burn in a reliable candle holder or in a fireproof dish.
