Offering candles to Odin, The All Father, Norse god of war and battle, magic, and death.

The Norse god is typically portrayed as having only one eye. This was the result from his pursuit of gaining all wisdom. In a quest to fulfill his own desires, Odin went to Mímir, the wisest of the gods, who lived by a well at the base of Yggdrasill, the world tree upon which all of the realms of Norse mythology rested. Mímir told Odin that he could drink from the waters of the well and gain divine wisdom, but only if he made a sacrifice. Odin proceeded to pluck his own eye out himself and offered it to Mímir as payment for his newfound wisdom.

There is a great lesson within this legend: what is one willing to give up in order to pursue their dreams, and at what cost? Could it be worth it? Other analyzations suggest that knowledge is power, but to be wise is to accept that their perspectives are not the only ones. To be truly well rounded in wisdom, one must actively try to understand and see through the eyes of others.

Odin had two ravens called Hugin (thought) and Munin (mind) that perched on his shoulders wherever he roamed. Every day they flew forth throughout the universe and brought news to the god. He was often called God of the Ravens. From his throne Hlithskjalf in Valaskkalf, the god could see everything pass before him, thus gaining the title: AllFather.

Invoke Odin to channel his energies of wisdom, perseverance, and strategy.

ɪᴛᴇᴍ ᴅᴇsᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ:  Two 6 inch pillar candles rolled in locally sourced herbs. These taper candles have been ritually rolled in herbs associated with Odin, specifically in divination such as: mugwort, wormwood, and healing herbs such as nettle and poppy.

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓:  These candles melt beautifully and are safe to burn indoors, however, PLEASE be wary of the flame. The more herbs, the bigger and taller the flame with be. Always supervise your candles while burning. These candles have very burnable botanicals. Some herbs may crackle when caught on fire, such as cedar and juniper.

Always burn in a reliable candle holder or in a fireproof dish.
