Airmid’s (pronounced 'ahr-met’ or ‘ahr-ved’) is the Irish goddess of healing and herbalism.

She and her brother Miach were one of the many children of Dian Cecht, a divine physician. Together, they tended a mystical well where the waters could restore body, mind, and spirit—reviving many injured warriors broken from battle.

Airmid was no ordinary healer. Alongside her brother, they healed King Nuada, allowing him to fully reign once more. Though this miracle brought glory to Nuada and the Tuatha Dé, the act shamed their father, for they had surpassed his glory.

In his rage, Dian Cecht challenged his son to a dual, and sadly Miach died by the hands of his father.

From Miach’s grave, 365 healing plants sprouted—one for every affliction known to humankind. Airmid gathered them with care, laying each on her cloak in perfect order. But as she worked, her father struck again—tearing the cloak away and scattering the herbs to the wind. Many were lost to time, their powers never known.

It is said that had he not done this, all illness would now have a cure. Instead, the knowledge lives on only in scattered fragments—hidden, sacred. Airmid is the only one who remembers. If you approach her with reverence, she may share secrets of healing.

Because these candles drip so easily, it's the perfect time to practice some candle divination, also known as Carromancy. Watch how the candle burns. Do you see figures in the wax? Do the flames flicker, grow tall, or hiss? Is there a certain direction in the way the wax is melting? These ritual candles may hold more secrets than you know.

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓:

These candles melt beautifully and are safe to burn indoors, however, PLEASE be wary of the flame. The more herbs, the bigger and taller the flame will be. Always supervise your candles while burning. These candles have very burnable botanicals. Some herbs may crackle when caught on fire, such as cedar and juniper.
