Anubis
Offering candles to Anubis: Egyptian god of death, tombs, burial grounds, and the protector of spirits. He is said to be the guardian of the door through which the deceased enter the hall of judgment. Before Osiris and Isis were prominent in their divine roles, it was Anubis who ruled over the Underworld.
He is depicted with the head of a jackal, as they were associated with death and usually lurked around cemeteries looking for meals of decomposing flesh. According to one myth of Abubis, he came into being by the goddess Nephthys and Osiris. Their intimacy was the product of an affair, and fearing that her husband, Set, would discover her infidelity, Nephthys abandoned the newborn child. It was Isis, goddess of magic, who nurtured and raised the young god into his prime.
Evoke Anubis to channel his energy for courage, strength, resilience, and deathwork.
