Circe
Offering candles to Circe, a Greek goddess who's power resides in sorcery, illusion, glamour, and protection.
She was brought into being by two deities: Helios, god of the sun, and the sea nymph Perse (although some say she was born from Hekate). She was often overlooked as a child, being considered a nymph herself which had no real place of power when it came to the divine hierarchical structure of the Greek gods.
In her later adolescence, she is banished to the island Aiaia by Zeus for practicing witchcraft, using magic to turn a romantic rival into a 12-headed beast known as Scylla. In another version of the tale, she is exiled for murdering the king of Colchis, her lover at the time.
Instead of seeing her island as a dungeon, she transformed her land into a place of knowledge and power. She would spend her days and nights experimenting with herbs and draughts, talking to animals, and casting spells to test her strengths. Through her endurance, she discovers inner strength and courage, eventually gaining a fearsome reputation in Greek history for transforming many sailors into pigs.
ɪᴛᴇᴍ ᴅᴇsᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ: Two 6 inch taper candles rolled in locally sourced herbs. These taper candles have been ritually rolled in herbs associated with Circe such as mugwort, yarrow, mullein, and dittany of Crete.
𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓: These candles melt beautifully and are safe to burn indoors, however, PLEASE be wary of the flame. The more herbs, the bigger and taller the flame will be. Always supervise your candles while burning. These candles have very burnable botanicals. Some herbs may crackle when caught on fire, such as cedar and juniper.
Always burn in a reliable candle holder or in a fireproof dish.
