Offering candles to Loki, Norse god of mischief, chaos, and trickery. He is considered a Jotun ( a Norse giant), yet some tales describe Loki as being conceived when a struck of lightning fell upon an oak tree. His name derives from the Old High German word meaning “shooting star.”

In Norse mythology, Loki lives among the Aesir spirits and is Odin's blood brother. While Loki was friends with many of the spirits and other deities of the realm, Loki's incurable chaotic mind would give way to unloyal characteristics, as Loki's intentions and motives were wildly unpredictable.

In one tale about Loki, it describes that of Baldur, son of Odin, who was prophesied to die a needless death. Overcome with paranoia and fright, his mother Frigg, the goddess of love, traveled and talked to all the animals and plants of the natural world to secure an oath that they would not harm him. However, she neglected to consult with the unassuming mistletoe. Loki, seeing the opportunity, made an arrow from the plant and persuaded the blind god Hodr, to shoot the otherwise invincible Baldur.

While this does showcase the god's mischief, he also is quite a skilled inventor, being a highly creative individual and an artist as well. He is a spirit who does not pick sides based simply on who has more concrete evidence to his liking, but because, again, he is unpredictable in his ways of life, as much as a trickster god can be.

Invoke Loki to channel his energy in unconventional thought, wittiness, and individuality.

ɪᴛᴇᴍ ᴅᴇsᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ:  Two 6 inch taper candles rolled in locally sourced herbs. These taper candles have been ritually rolled in herbs associated with Loki such as juniper cedar, mistletoe, mugwort, and wormwood.

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓:  These candles melt beautifully and are safe to burn indoors, however, PLEASE be wary of the flame. The more herbs, the bigger and taller the flame will be. Always supervise your candles while burning. These candles have very burnable botanicals. Some herbs may crackle when caught on fire, such as cedar and juniper.

Always burn in a reliable candle holder or in a fireproof dish.
